Advanced Auto Parts

Advance Auto Parts was founded in 1932 by Arthur Taubman. Originally operating just two stores in Roanoke and one in Lynchburg, Virginia, Advance Auto Parts successfully developed a massive distribution center that expanded so rapidly that they became the fastest growing aftermarket parts retailer in the country by 1988. Soon after, they reached down to Mississippi and Alabama, and up to D.C. and even Boston. Advance Auto Parts premiered on the Fortune 500 list of companies in 2003, and has remained on the list ever since.
